I went away and did a bit of additional research on this issue of calling a Crystal report within MS Access. This is what I found out related to delphi's original question. There is a help file within Crystal reports to guide you through the process by entering 'Access Add-In' into the help file search engine in Crystal Reports.

1) Crystal Reports 9.0 contains a Crystal Reports Add-In for MS Access 97 and 2000 only .
2) This Add-In can be found in the following folder on your Crystal Reports Installation e.g.
C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Report Designer Component
3) This Add-In can be installed by opening MS Access 97 or 2000 Tools\Add-Ins\ then click on the 'Add New 'button. The Add-In Manager will run. Navigate to the above folder which will then contain either a craccess97wz.mde or craccess2kwz.mde file.
4) Install this add in if for either MS Access 97 or MS Access 2000
5) Follow through the instructions in the Crystal Reports helpfile as indicated above to generate your reports.

Unfortunately, there is no MS Access 2003 add-in for Crystal Reports 9. I had a look at the following knowledge Base article on the that has since been archived and pdf'd on the Business Objects website - Type in c2011814 into the Support search engine on this website.

MS Access 2003 isn't included. At this stage, being a CR-9 user if CR-10 came bundled with an MS Access 2003 add-in for MS Access. Maybe someone with this product knows.

In Summary, if you have MS Access 97 or 2000 and are using CR-9 then use the add-in to create Crystal Reports within MS Access. For MS Access 2003 there is no add-in with CR-9 though later editions may have one.
